After School Nanny, additional needs (Ref: KDTB:LN:AA) - Clapham area of London (SW9)

Closing date: 31 Oct 2019

We are working with a family based in SW9 area of London who are looking for a nanny to provide after school pickup and support to their one child aged 9 years. The child is on the autistic spectrum and has speech, language and communication difficulties. The child also has some special dietary requirements.

Whilst the family live in Clapham, the child attends a school provision in Euston.

The requirements of the job include:

  • Collecting from school in Euston and taking to various extra curricular activities
  • encourage independent skills, (for example, teaching how to cross the road safely, getting off a busy train, how to tie shoe laces)
  • Encouraging social skills and interaction, (for example, greeting others, encouraging please and thank you)
  • Provide or buy a healthy snack

The hours required will be 2.30pm-6.30pm Monday to Thursday. The family are willing to be flexible on the hourly rate to attract the right candidate. A driver is not required, however use of public transport is required - the family may contribute to the cost of the nannies travel pass.

This position would suit a nanny who has a fun, lively personality, with the energy and understanding that there is a requirement to do a number of trips to various groups and activities within Central London, before taking the child home.

Consistency with enforcing strong boundaries and approach to discipline is important to the family. As is the need for patience and compassion when working with and supporting this child.

The position is available now, as soon as the right person is found, and the family would like someone who can commit to them on a long term basis.
