Nanny / Housekeeper - 2 options available (20-30 hours a week) (KDTB:NE:LB) - Durham (DH1)

Closing date: 01 Mar 2019

A Nanny Housekeeper position has become available working with a family in Durham who have 2 children who are aged 8 and 6 years.  If you like Lego, Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket... this may be a great opportunity for you.

The family are looking for the right person and are willing to consider two options:

Option 1 - The essential need of split days to take care of the taking to and collecting from school - 20 hours a week

The role will involve:

  • Attending to the daily needs of the children, morning routines and getting them ready for school
  • Supporting with physio excercises for both children who have flat feet
  • Collecting from school, supervising homework, and supporting with reading
  • Preparing of and cooking healthy meal
  • Encouraging and supporting the children to keep their bedrooms and play areas tidy
  • Children's laundry, keeping on top of children's clothes, including name tagging, taking shopping for new clothes and shoes as needed
  • Taking to medical appointments (physio) on occasion within normal working hour

Option 2 - 30 hours a week covering 2 long days plus 2 shorter days (7.45am-6pm plus 2pm-6pm)

This option would include all of the duties listed above in addition to:

  • Light cleaning duties (mostly to kitchen and playroom)
  • General laundry (towels and bedding)
  • Supporting with the household organisation, errands, meeting of tradesmen

In school holidays, there is some flexibility - the hours can be condensed to the same number of hours as during school time, or if the nanny would prefer to work term time only, this can be considered also.

A driver is required, there may be a car available for the nannies use.

Position to start 25th February 2019. The family are looking for someone to work with them on a long term basis.
