Do you have a fun and bubbly personality? Are you a proactive nanny with lots of energy and common sense with a good underdstanding of how a busy family works? Do you have an abundance of creative and imaginative ideas for entertaining small children? Can you plan and cook a variety of healthy meals for a family with 3 children?

If yes, then this may be a perfect opportunity for you!

A lovely family in North Shields are looking for a nanny to provide care and support for their three children, aged 6 years, 3 years and 18 months. The family are able to guarantee a minimum of 35 hours a week, however there may be more hours available to fit around the parent's work schedule.

The essential hours required are:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3.00pm-9.00pm
  • Some Saturday or Sunday working may be required - hours on the weekends will be agreed as they are needed - this will not be every weekend

This is a sole charge nanny position which will include:

  • Attending to the daily needs of the children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and happiness
  • School and nursery collections
  • When not at school or nursery, the planning of age appropriate games, activities and outings to encourage learning and development
  • Play and interaction with the children, in addition to supporting their learning, and reaching age appropriate milestones, whilst encouraging social interaction and good behaviour
  • Preparation of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks whilst ensuring a good tea time routine
  • Bath and bedtime routines for the children
  • General common sense tasks around the home, for example if you make the mess, you tidy it, preparing the children's things for the next day.
  • Keeping the childs bedroom, toys and play areas tidy
  • Light housekeeping and laundry tasks related to the child

Flexibility is essential as due to the nature of the parents business, they work long hours and extra cover may be needed, sometimes at very short notice, this depends on the work schedule of the business. As much notice as possible will be given of additional hours. The family have very good routines in place for the children and they do want this to continue.

The family would like someone who has lots of knowledge and experience in caring for a varied age of children, and must have a valid paediatric first aid certificate and current DBS check. A driver with clean driving licence and own transport is essential.

Position to commence as soon as possible.

The family will consider a live in nanny if they can meet all the expected criteria. If live in, there is a self contained flat available as part of the overall package purely for the chosen nanny.

(Trust, flexibility, stability, reliability and committment are all essential elements the family will expect from their Nanny as well as good common sense. The parents run a successful business and look after the staff they employ within this business. They have a good work ethic and they appreciate good workers. They are looking for someone who will be able to fit with the family and be with them long term)
