I really couldn't stop smiling...... A Day of Inspiration, thanks to The Inspire Network!

Whatever you do in business, whatever field of business you are in, you are most certainly likely to gain more out of it by working with and supporting others, even if this is a means of seeking advice from someone who might have faced similar issues or someone who can point you in the right direction with something you have never come across before, or by showing support if someone is having a difficult time. Trying to do everything on your own can be very lonely way of making a business run, especially if you are a sole trader. Recommended ways to combat this are to use social media and join a network group.

I am very proud to be part of The Inspire Network Group. This group is made up of North East Women Entreprenuers who run various businesses and  I know I can ask a question within the group and someone will provide the answer.  My aim is for Kids Deserve the Best is to link with child and family friendly businesses that compliment each other so we can make a whole range of child and family friendly services available to the people of the North East.

The team at Inspire Network organised an Open Day for businesses to get together and let others see how the network works and the benefits of joining. As the day drew nearer, I was getting very excited, not only to be part of the day itself, but because this was going to be the first outing for the lovely Vicky Hill, my first Kids Deserve the Best apprentice. I am sure nerves were setting in for Vicky as she did not know what to expect. It was great to catch up with other Network members and I was proud to introduce Vicky to everyone. There were times when Vicky had to speak to people about what we do at Kids Deserve the Best and a whole section of time when she was on our table on her own. I am delighted that she did so well. It does feel like Vicky has been with us for longer than she has been and long may that continue.

This year The Inspire Team included a North East Business Women Awards as part of their Open Day. The aim being to celebrate the achievements great and small of the Inspiring Women. The Awards were presented by the fabulously inspirational Nicky Gray from Kikis Kabin (Award winning Soft Play and cafe in North Shields) and Fidgets - the Salon for Kids

The Award Categories, shortlisted finalists and winners were:

Best Service (Business to Business) - Sponsored by Jasprint

Best Service (Business to Customer) - Sponsored by Harbottle Events

Best Product - Sponsored by The Admin Doctor

Best Direct Seller - Sponsored by Kids Deserve the Best

Best Retail/Online Business - Sponsored by Highlights PR

Best New Business - Sponsored by Raring 2 Go

Business Woman of the Year - Sponsored by Bede's World

To say I was surprised and absolutely delighted at being chosen as the Winner of the Best Service to Customers category is an understatement. Being selected as a finalist was great, but being chosen as the winner is an absolute honour. When my name was called out I could not stop shaking. I am extremely proud of the work I do for the families and nannies who chose to come to Kids Deserve the Best, I really do want the best for everyone I work with

I do have to say well done to everyone who entered, a big well done to all those shortlisted finalists and massive congratulations to the winners. There really are some talented and inspirational people in the North East and we should be mighty proud of what we do.

I haven't finished yet..... Throughout the day, photos were being taken by the fabulous Mandy Charlton of Mandy Charlton Photography. And each of the finalists had tasty personalised cakes made by the guys at Smart Bakes.

My final note goes to the fabulous team behind the Inspire Network..... THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

Sarah x

(And I didn't even mention the word purple......)
