Nanny Development Days
DAY 2 AND 3 DEVELOPMENT DATES PLANNED FOR SATURDAY 11TH + 18TH SEPTEMBER 2010

We are now working with Winnovation Training Ltd who have put together 3 Nanny Development Days which will run on a variety of Saturdays so as not to disturb your working week. Courses will run from 9.30am-4.30pm at the Into Change Centre, Shiremoor (behind Sainsburys, Northumberland Park is nearest metro station). The idea is to improve your practice, update your skills, provide evidence of the Common Core Skills which will satisfy Ofsted but the best bit is.... you get to socialise and have a bit of fun with other nannies. It is hoped that these Development Days will run on a regular basis and other topics may be added at a later date.
You can do 1 day, 2 days or all 3 days, although for Common Core Skills you will need to do both day 2 and 3.

First Aid Training
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that you have a current Early Years First Aid Certificate to keep YOUR skills up to date and ensure YOU know what to do if a child in your care has an accident or falls ill. This is an essential criteria if you are going to work with a family who require their nanny to access the Voluntary Ofsted Register.
Please be aware that it is going to be more difficult to find a family for you if you do not have a valid first aid qualification, if you wish to be considered for any of the families we are working with it is in your best interests to keep this training up to date.
bit.ly/dga4uV is the link to various providers of first aid training for you to source the training course yourself and book yourself a place. You need to ensure you do a Paediatric First Aid course which usually is a 12 hour course. Please keep us informed of any updates to your training.
Alternatively
I have been working with St John Ambulance Brigade who will allow an Early Years First Aid course to be run on a weekend basis at any of their headquarters. I would need to have 8-12 people on a course. Sadly I cannot do anything about the cost of the first aid training, although for a group booking they may allow a discount. The current cost of the training is £95 plus VAT and certificates will be valid for 3 years.
Payment needs to be made on booking to secure your place.
