Before and After School childcare required for family in Gosforth - Sept 2018 KDTB:NE:ROD - Gosforth, Newcastle (NE3)

Closing date: 25 Aug 2018

We are delighted to be working with a lovely family who are looking for a nanny to help them with their before and after school childcare needs. A monthly package will be created to take into account that the position will be less hours in school term and full days in school holidays.

The family have 1 child aged 4 years who is excited to be starting school in September 2018. The school and any activities are within walking distance to the home, therefore a driver is not required.

Duties will include:

  • attending to the needs of all the child
  • Morning routines to prepare for getting to school
  • Taking to and collecting from school and taking back to the family home
  • care and interaction, planning a variety of age appropriate activities and outings
  • preparing a healthy evening meal/ healthy snacks
  • assistance and encouragement with reading and homework
  • play and interaction with the child
  • bath and bedtime routines (if parents are working or on call)
  • some general help around the household (keeping the kitchen tidy, keeping the general household areas and children's bedrooms tidy)

Hours requested are typically 7.30am until 8.45am and again from 3.00pm-6.00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Two out of the three days are likely to require a later finish until 9pm however this is dependant on mum's on-call rota.

The job offers as a minimum of 13 essential hours plus 6 on-call hours per week. Plus full day cover during some of the school holidays.

There may be the need to cover the occasional Friday, this will be planned with as much advance notice as possible.

Flexibility is essential, due to the nature of mum's work, whilst being aware that dad needs to commute to his place of work.

The family are looking for someone who is happy to be with them for the long term and are prepared to offer additional hours for the perfect person who would be happy to do some light household duties and errands. A maximum of 30 hours could be made available for someone who was willing to expand on their childcare duties.

This position would suit someone who is bright, bubbly and who likes to laugh, someone who likes to encourage a variety of fun, imaginative learning activities with an active outlook on caring for children.

Position to start 1st September 2018
