Anyone know of a family looking to do a nanny share in Jesmond? - Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne (NE2)

Closing date: 31 Aug 2018

Do you know anyone who is looking for a nanny in Jesmond area of Newcastle upon Tyne (NE2) and who is willing to be part of a nanny share arrangement?

We have a family returning to Kids Deserve the Best (Family 1) who would now like to consider a nanny share arrangement with another family (Family 2) to help share the costs and enabling them to keep their current nanny in a position with enough hours and income to make staying in this job more sustainable. Now that the child from family 1 is a little older and will be in full time school, full day time hours are no longer justifiable from the families cost effectiveness point of view.

However Family 1 want to keep their nanny as the arrangement has worked extremely well for the last 3 and a bit years and therefore in order to ensure the nanny is able to earn the same salary, we are now looking for a Family 2 who would be willing to share the nanny to make up some of the lost hours which are no longer justified with family 1.

From September 2018 - The lovely nanny is going to be available until 2.45pm each day during term time on a sole basis - she will then need to arrange to pick up one child (aged 4) from NPS in Jesmond at 3pm and provide care until 5.30pm. Family 1 will need the nanny to provide full time cover during school holidays.

This would be a good opportunity for a family who are looking for a full time nanny - as long as they are willing to enter a share agreement on a term time basis from 3pm onwards and full time during the school holidays.

If you know of a family who this may be an ideal scenario for - please pass on our details. We can talk them through the best practice elements of being part of a nanny share arrangement.

Ideally for a start in September 2018, possibly sooner if the right arrangement was available.

For a better understanding of what a nanny share can look like:

Nanny sharing is an arrangement whereby a nanny is employed by more than one family to care for the children in each family. This could be in instances such as:

  •  2 families share the nanny all the time
  •  The nanny looks after 1 family for some of the time,
  •  The other family for some of the time
  •  The families can divide the time equally, so the nanny goes to 1 home for half the week, and the other home for the rest of the week.

Clear communication and understanding along with mutual respect helps to make a nanny share arrangement work well. This arrangement must suit both parties - both families must like the same nanny AND the nanny must like both families!

If you are interested in being the Family 2 on this nanny share arrangement and are based in the Jesmond area, please get in contact either by emailing sarah@kidsdeservethebest.co.uk or telephoning 0191 2507025.
